Jul 28, 2013· im setting up a saltwater tank and i know its gonna be expensive so i was wondering if sand from the ocean is safe for a fish tank. I would be getting the sand from a beach in South Carolina.
The white rock from your yard sure looks like milky Quartz. The small areas that appear pinkish in the photo appear to be orthoclase feldspar. Thmakes sense because when a silica rich magma cools the orthoclase crystallizes out just befor the pure silica (Quartz).
